Everything you need to know
Mesotherapy is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment that involves delivering a customised blend of active ingredients directly into the skin through a series of superficial micro-injections. These ingredients are selected to support skin hydration, nourishment, regeneration and overall skin quality.
At Skin by Dr Serena, mesotherapy is tailored to your individual skin concerns and goals, helping to improve the health and appearance of your skin from within.
Mesotherapy can be used to improve a variety of skin concerns, including dullness, dehydration, uneven skin texture, fine lines, reduced elasticity and tired-looking skin.
It can also be used as part of a scalp treatment plan to support hair health and encourage a healthier environment for hair growth. During your consultation, Dr Serena will assess your skin and recommend the most suitable approach for your concerns.
The ingredients used in mesotherapy are selected based on your individual skin needs. These may include hydrating, nourishing and regenerative ingredients designed to support collagen production, improve skin quality and enhance your natural glow.
Your treatment plan will be personalised following a detailed consultation and assessment to ensure the approach is right for your skin.
Your comfort is our priority. Before treatment, a topical numbing solution can be applied to help make the procedure as comfortable as possible, which will be discussed during your consultation.
We use specialised, ultra-fine needles designed to be gentle on the skin, and most patients find the treatment very well tolerated with minimal discomfort.
Mesotherapy has minimal downtime. You may experience some redness, mild swelling, small raised areas at the injection sites or bruising, which typically settles over the following days.
If you are someone who is prone to bruising or would like to minimise the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding alcohol, caffeine, vigorous exercise and anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen for 24–48 hours before and after treatment, where medically appropriate.
These factors can increase the likelihood of bruising but will not affect the effectiveness or results of your treatment.
Your personalised aftercare advice will always be discussed following your appointment to support your skin recovery and optimise your results.
Mesotherapy is designed as a course of treatments to achieve optimal results rather than a one-off treatment. The number of sessions required will depend on your individual skin concerns, goals and how your skin responds.
During your consultation, Dr Serena will assess your skin and create a personalised treatment plan, including the recommended number and timing of sessions. We offer treatment packages at a package rate to help support you through your recommended course.
Results develop gradually as the skin responds to the treatment and the active ingredients support improved skin quality. Many patients notice improvements in hydration, radiance and texture following a course of treatments.
The longevity of results depends on your individual skin, lifestyle and ongoing skincare routine. Maintenance treatments may be recommended to continue supporting healthy, glowing skin.
